Promoting Traditional and Sport Wado-Kai Karate in Scotland
Congratulation to all the Shuzoku Wado-Kai Association members who took part in the British Karate Federation international open this weekend. Sophie won a bronze medal🥉in para kata and a few of our other members just missing out on the medal places. A great experience for everyone. Thanks to Andy and Louise for coaching.

These sessions are focused on developing kata for competition karate and are led by Tom Scott, Shuzoku Wado-Kai Association Kata Coach. Members attending must know at least one or two full kata. If you haven’t attended before please check with your instructor.

Shuzoku Wado-Kai Association celebrated obtaining branch membership of Japan Karatedo Federation Wado-Kai by hosting a two-day Scottish Summer of Wado-Kai Excellence Seminar with Sensei K. Sakagami 8th Dan.
Congratulations to Amy who won a Bronze medal in Female Junior Kata and to Rory who won Bronze in the Boys Kumite event at the Scottish International Grand Prix on Sunday 30th June 2024.

We’d like to invite all members who are interested in taking part in fighting competitions to join us at our Fighting Development Day on Sunday 12th May from 10.30am-2.30pm at Engage Sport and Fitness, Edinburgh Napier University, Sighthill Campus, EH11 4BN.
The event has been organised by our association and the subsidised cost of £15. Instructors from our group will be there to help lead the event.
The event will comprise skills and drills, fitness, fun and match time. There will be a break for lunch so please bring a packed lunch with you.
If interested please reply to your instructor asap making a £15 cash payment to them.
