Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Dumfries Wado-Kai Club Championships, held on Sunday 25th June 2023 at Lochvale House, Dumfries. The competition consisted of 13 categories, comprising of kata, kumite and kickmaster events. Big thank you to the organisers, helpers, referees and judges who made this event possible.
Congratulations to Callum who won a gold medal in kumite, Sophie who won a silver medal in para kata and to Tom and Andrew who won bronze in the pairs kata event at the Cumbria Open Karate Championships held in Penrith on Sunday 11th June 2023.
Congratulation to Rory who won a silver medal in the boys kumite event and to Sophie who won a silver medal in the para kata event at the Scottish International Open Grand Prix on Sunday 3rd June at Ravenscraig. Well done to all members who took part in this event.

Congratulations to the children from Oaklands School who have passed their first karate grading with Dalry Karate Group. Instructors Andrew and Louise Elliott have significant experience of teaching karate to children with disabilities and additional support needs. The children have been working very hard and were all delighted to receive the grade of junior yellow belt.
Well done to all the members who took part in the All Ireland Wado Competition in Belfast. Thanks to Ophir Karate for the invitation.

A few SWA members travelled to Carlisle to take part in a seminar with Sensei Sakagami.

Congratulations to Sophie Jones who won a Gold Medal and Kyle Schuller won won a Bronze Medal in their respective Para Kata events, while representing the Scotland National Karate Team at the British Grand Slam event in Penrith. Whilst at the event they also took part in a BKF Performance Training Camp with the British Para Karate Coach.
